(AP) — A former Tennessee state trooper has disappeared after being convicted of misdemeanor assault for allegedly ripping masks from protesters during the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2020. Columbia police said Monday that 54-year-old Harvey Briggs was last seen in the city in October. 1. Driving a black 2015 Ford Fusion the day after being sentenced to six months probation. He did not contest in the September case. 15. Police said Briggs made “several relevant statements” to his family before leaving, and they haven’t heard from him since.
