MOSCOW, Idaho — The University of Idaho (UI) will hold a week-long Homecoming celebration that begins in September. The women’s soccer game against Idaho State University kicks off on the 25th at 1 p.m. at the ASUI Kibbie Dome.
Homecoming week will end with a parade in October. 1. Vandal alumni and longtime campus leader Kathy Clark, who was critical to bringing women’s track and field to UI, will serve as Grand Marshal for this year’s parade.
Kathy Clark has worked at UI for 25 years as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Athletic Administrator. Clark helped form the first Vandal volleyball team in 1974, leading the team to a 22-6 record as head coach in its first season. Clark was inducted into the UI Hall of Fame in 2007 in recognition of his lifetime achievement in sports.
“You or me and the athletic department will always have a special place in my heart,” Clark said. “I have said more than once that you or I are a special place with special people doing special things. Every year I try to return for a few events, but it is exciting and exciting to be back with the honor of being Homecoming Grand Marshal. Unforgettable. Thank you for the great honor and as always – GO VANDALS!”
