SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A man faces potentially life-threatening injuries following a shooting in Spokane Valley.
Representatives from the Spokane Valley Police Department responded to the shooting near East Fourth Avenue and South Cannery Road late Saturday night.
Deputies have made an unrelated call in the area and found the male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Detectives from the Major Crime Squad investigated the scene. Deputies found the suspect, Dontrell O. Dale, 22, at the Pope Francis Haven apartment with two teenagers.
Delegates found two guns under a tree north of the Appleway Trail, one of which was reported stolen on June 28. Both guns were confiscated and registered as evidence.
One of the teens was arrested on an unrelated felony warrant in Idaho and is being held at the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center. The second teenager was released to his parents.
Detectives found probable grounds to arrest Dale on charges of first-degree assault and possession of a stolen firearm. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
This is an ongoing investigation.
