The full entertainment lineup for the 2023 Super Bowl has arrived.
In addition to Rihanna’s much-anticipated halftime performance, a number of Hollywood heavyweights joined the major sporting event as preview performers.
Emmy-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing” in the preview, the NFL announced Tuesday. The “Abbott Elementary” star was notable for her vocals on stage as she accepted an Emmy in 2022.
Joining Ralph in the pre-show festivities was Grammy Award-winning country music artist Chris Stapleton, who was invited to sing the national anthem. R&B singer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds will also perform, rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
According to an NFL release, each performer will have a talent to accompany them, delivering American Sign Language (ASL) on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD).
Oscar winner Troy Kotsur will join Stapleton in signing the national anthem. Kotsur won the 2022 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “The Epilogue,” becoming the second deaf person to win an acting Oscar after Marlee Matlin.
