As Chair of the Small Business Council, I have been fighting for small businesses to get the relief they deserve since the pandemic began, and I’m excited to share with you This New York State Seed Fund Grant Program Applications are now being accepted. If you have a viable small business established on or after September 1, 2018, you may be eligible for a grant of up to $25,000.
Seed grant program is new, specifically for businesses that don’t qualify for its aid Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant Program, itself recently expanded its qualifications. The Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant program will be permanently closed on September 30, 2022, and I urge all small business owners to visit nysmallbusinessrecovery.com as soon as possible to see if you qualify for the program before time runs out.

what is it?
One $200 million grant program Designed to help early-stage small businesses and facilitate our state’s economic recovery from the pandemic era. At my advocacy, the program was included in this year’s New York State budget.
Is this another loan I have to pay back?
No, you don’t have to pay back a penny you get. This is a grant program where eligible small businesses are eligible for grants between $5,000 and $25,000, depending on the size of your business.
How do I know if I’m eligible?

What can I use the grant for?
Grants are available for certain expenses incurred between September 1, 2018 and January 1, 2022. Eligible expenses include (but are not limited to) payroll costs, rent or mortgage payments, certain taxes, insurance costs, utility costs, HVAC fees, PPE fees, etc.
